Job Title

Area Manager (East Anglia)

We have a fantastic opportunity available in our Network Field Team of Area Manager covering our East Anglia Region, which will monitor performance of the depots within the area and collectively work to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the network.

Main duties will include monitoring performance of depots addressing any issues, following through any actions with depot principals. Ensure APC processes and procedures are adhered to and audits are conducted accordingly, supporting our Security team with investigations, providing training and support to the network, regularly updating the Network Director with any issues, providing quarterly reports on performance, co-odinating weekly movement plans, assisting in the resolution of disputes between depots. Maintain an awareness of the industry is also key to this role.

The successful candidate will have excellent people management skills alongside strong administration, communication and planning and organising skills. The successful candidate must also have industry knowledge.

Job Summary:

Monitor performance of the depots within your area and collectively work to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the network.

Main duties:

The main duties that would be required within this position are as detailed below:

  • Monitor the performance of depots within your area, address issues as they arise and make recommendations for improvements
  • Meet with depot managers/ principles as required and follow through actions
  • Ensure that APC processes are adhered to within depots and conduct audits as required (inc. AM, Day and PM audits)
  • Support the Security Department with security investigations (as required)
  • Provide training and support to the network as required (this will include assisting with the roll out of new procedures, policies and computer systems)
  • Regularly keep the National Network Manager updated on issues/ potential problems within your area and prepare adhoc reports on specific issues as required.
  • Provide a quarterly report to the National Network Manager of the performance of your area (both in respect of positive and negative issues).
  • Maintain an awareness of hubs deals and developments  
  • Co-ordinate a weekly movement plan (to take into account the requirements of the business) and forward to the National Network Manager.
  • Investigate and action service complaints/ failures and instigate disciplinary procedures as required
  • Facilitate in the resolution of issues and disputes between depots
  • Maintain an awareness of the industry/market
  • Provide on site and initial set up training for newly appointed depots as required
  • Occasionally assist with depot coverage as and when required

Job Title

Security Officer

We have a fantastic new opportunity available within our expanding Nights Security team. We are currently looking for a Security Officer on our Night Operation to improve and maintain the security both at the hub and across the network.

Main duties will include assistance in the overall delivery of the security function during the Night Operation and contribute to implementation of security policy ensure there are high security standards at all times. There will need to be a use of the Company’s CCTV facilities to research and aid with investigations.

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the Data Protection Act, with excellent communication, people management and conflict skills. You will have security awareness, with a sound working knowledge of Microsoft and reporting. Previous experience is essential, SIA qualification is desirable.

Shifts will be Monday night through to Friday night, 9.5 hours.

The position consists of working 45 hours, Monday to Friday between 2000hrs and 0400hrs. Due to the nature of the role flexibility is essential.  Occasionally you may be required to change your working pattern
Entitlement to a 30 min unpaid break each shift (Therefore on site attendance equates to 9.5 hours per day)

Job Title

Class 1 Driver

Due to our growth, we are currently looking to recruit a Class 1 driver to join the existing well established Transport team.

Working within the operation, main duties will include: collecting and delivering freight to local depots, driving a tug master, moving trailers between sites, general relief driving.

The successful applicant will have previous experience and good communication skills.  A class 1 licence (C & E), valid digital card are essential and a forklift truck licence would be advantageous.

Hours of work 50 per week Monday to Friday– flexibility is essential due to the nature of the business, shift patterns to be confirmed.

The depots and hub staff work during the business day; major user activity also takes place at the hub overnight and good IT cover is essential 24/7. The IT Department is expected to deal with incidents not managed by our external providers.

  • Produce monthly statements distributing via post and email

  • Contact internal customers to agree contra balances and ensure monthly contra payments are received to terms
  • Produce and maintain external customer stop lists providing updates to relevant depot
  • Post payment receipts, allocating receipts into Sage 50
  • Schedule Direct Debit payments, recording and posting Direct Debit receipts
  • Record receipts into cash book ensuring reconciled back to Sage trial balance
  • Respond to customer queries
  • Process new account applications
  • Support Credit Manager to establish credit limits providing support on depot limit reviews
  • Assist with preparations for depot review visits/meetings
  • Depot payment performance reporting
  • Utilise Experian credit check reporting to monitor credit ratings and recommend limits
  • Maintain and action risk alerts from Experian monitoring service, prioritising any adverse information
  • Regularly review exposure figures taking appropriate action to keep customers within set limits
  • Maintain depot credit limit matrix ensuring any changes are documented.
  • Ensure customer master data records are maintained
  • General accounting duties that the position may require
