Special delivery for Rochdale hospice
Rochdale-based courier firm, Apex Logistics (UK) Ltd, made an extra special delivery to its local hospice.
The company, which is part of the APC Overnight network, decided to make a donation to Springhill Hospice on behalf of its customers.
Apex Logistics, depot manager, Gillian Ashworth explained: “We wanted to do something different this year and give back to the community, at the same time as recognising our loyal customers. Springhill Hospice does fantastic work, providing much-need care services to people with life-limiting illnesses throughout Rochdale and the surrounding areas. The response from our customers was one of whole-hearted support.“
Warehouse manager, Neil Whiston added “Donating to Springhill Hospice was an obvious choice. Most people in Rochdale have had some experience of the hospice and by donating to them we know 100 per cent of the donation is put to good use“.
Elaine McConnell, Springhill's Regular Giving co-ordinator, added: “We are so grateful to Apex Logistics. I'm sure that box of chocolates or bottle of wine would have been appreciated by their customers, but the difference it makes to our patients and their families is immeasurable.“
“The support we receive from Rochdale businesses is fantastic and Apex's generosity is a brilliant example of how doing something simple can make a world of difference to us here at the Hospice.“
